The Staff classroom experience will provide staff with an opportunity to sit in on a class in order to better understand our primary role in the community and connect their roles with our student’s needs.
- To help staff better understand the student community we serve by experiencing what students experience in the classroom
- To learn something about a subject area that interests them
- To foster networking amongst UFV faculty and staff
- Students and faculty learn more about the “behind the scenes” operations at UFV (through a brief introduction)
Staff can refer to the UFV calendar to choose subject areas of interest, by course, and send us their top three choices. I&E@UFV will contact departments/instructors to match staff and specific course instructors to determine the best time to attend. In the class, the staff member will be introduced at the start of the lecture and given a few minutes to introduce themselves, describe their role at UFV and answer a few questions. They will be invited to observe and/or participate in the class activities as works best for all. After the classroom visit, staff and faculty will be encouraged to provide feedback on their classroom experience.
