About myUFV accounts

  • IT Services has been creating and maintaining myUFV accounts since 2004.
  • UFV students, staff and faculty can have a myUFV account.
  • Most accounts are based on our Banner Information System.
  • Accounts for non-Banner users may be created by special request only.
  • Accounts for new employees will be created on request.

Do I need a new username and password for myUFV access?

  • Students can use the same username and password for myUFV as they use for their student computer account and online Blackboard courses.
  • Employees can use the same username and password for myUFV as they use for their online Blackboard courses (employee computer accounts are different).

How do I log in?

  • Your username is your student or employee number which is located on your UFV student or employee card.
  • Prior to your first time logging into the UFV network, you must contact the IT Service Desk to speak with an IT Service Desk Analyst in order to set up your password. Your password must be at least 8-12 characters and must contain a combination of lower case and upper case letters, numbers, and special characters.

What is a security question?

  • It is good practise to set a myUFV security question once you have successfully logged into myUFV in case you forget your password.
  • From the myUFV Home tab, click on Personal Information and click on Change Security Question.

My Account is locked. What do I do?

If you receive the message that your account is locked, please wait 5 minutes and try to log in again. If after waiting 5 minutes you are still unable to login, please visit the IT Service Desk for assistance.

What if my password has expired?

  • Your password will expire if you have not logged into your myUFV account for a long period of time.
  • Please contact the IT Service Desk to have your password reset if you no longer have myUFV access.

What if I don't know my PIN/Password or forgot my PIN/Password?

You can have your PIN/Password reset by either:

  1. Visiting: Bring photo ID such as your campus card to the IT Service Desk located in room B241 and request a password reset.
  2. Scanning/Emailing: Email the itservicedesk@ufv.ca and attach a copy of your driver’s license, student ID, or any other picture ID. Please also include a phone number where you can be reached. Someone will be in touch shortly to help you with your password reset.

How do I change my PIN/Password?

  • Login to myUFV with your existing PIN/Password.
  • Click on the Personal Information link.
  • Click on the Change your PIN link.
  • Use the form to change your PIN/Password. Please ensure your password is at least 8 and no more than 12 characters, and contains a combination of lower case and upper case letters, numbers, and special characters. 
  • Please wait 15 minutes or longer after any myUFV change before you log in again to allow time for the network to synchronize all of your computer accounts‌.
