About myUFV accounts

  • IT Services has been creating and maintaining myUFV accounts since 2004.
  • UFV students, staff and faculty can have a myUFV account.
  • Most accounts are based on our Banner Information System.
  • Accounts for non-Banner users may be created by special request only.
  • Accounts for new employees will be created on request.

Do I need a new username and password for myUFV access?

  • Students can use the same username and password for myUFV as they use for their student computer account and online Blackboard courses.
  • Employees can use the same username and password for myUFV as they use for their online Blackboard courses (employee computer accounts are different).

How do I log in?

  • Your username is your student / employee number which often starts with 3000, 2000 or 107.
  • This number is recorded on your UFV student / employee campus card.
  • Your password is your six digit PIN allocated to you during your admission / registration or hiring process.
  • The first time you log into the UFV network, your PIN is set to your birth date (yymmdd) which you will be asked to change after your first login.
  • Please see Student Computer Accounts or Employee Computer Accounts for more detailed information about computer accounts.

What is a security question?

  • It is good practise to set a myUFV security question once you have successfully logged into myUFV in case you forget your password.
  • From the myUFV Home tab, click on Personal Information and click on Change Security Question.

What if I can't log in?

  • Many people cannot log into myUFV as they are using an incorrect username or password.
  • The second reason people cannot log in is they do not have a myUFV account because one has never been created.
  • If your first contact with UFV was prior to 2003 or you were never an active student - please contact the IT Service Desk for assistance.

What if my account is suspended?

  • Your account will be temporarily suspended if more than five unsuccessful attempts have been made to log in to your myUFV account.
  • Wait half an hour or longer and try to log in again using your correct information.

What if my account is disabled?

  • Your account will be disabled if there has been more than five incorrect attempts to answer your security question.
  • You will still be able to log into myUFV, but access to certain personal confidential areas (i.e. your grades, your registration details, etc.) will be restricted.
  • Your account is disabled, your password can be reset by the Office of the Registrar or the IT Service  Desk.

What if my password has expired?

  • Your password will expire if you have not logged into your myUFV account for a long period of time.
  • Please have your password reset if you no longer have myUFV access.

What if I don't know my PIN or forgot my PIN?

  • If you never received your PIN or have forgotten your PIN, please review the myUFV Login Assistance knowledge base article.
  • You can reset your PIN yourself online through the Self Service Student System if you have previously set a security question.
  • You can also request the UFV Registrar Office to reset your password to your birth date by either:
  1. Visiting: Bring photo ID such as your campus card to any Office of the Registrar or to the IT Service Desk and request a password reset.
  2. Faxing: Fill out and sign a Reset myUFV Access or Forgot myPIN form available online at ufv.ca/admissions/forms. Fax the form to Office of the Registrar along with a photocopy of your photo ID. Your signature on your photo ID must match your signature on the form.
  3. Scanning/Emailing: Complete the Reset myUFV Access or Forgot myPIN form and scan/email it along with photo to reginfo@ufv.ca. Your signature on your photo ID must match your signature on the form.
  4. Phoning: Call the Office of the Registrar at 604-854-4501 to request a password reset. To verify your information over the phone, you will need to answer a minimum of three security questions.
  • Your new PIN is automatically synchronized with myUFV.
  • Please allow up to 15 minutes for the network to synchronize all of your computer accounts before you log in again.

How do I change my PIN?

  • Login to myUFV with your existing PIN.
  • Find the My UFV Records Services channel (see the Online Services tab).
  • Click on the Personal Information link.
  • Click on the Change your PIN link.
  • Use the form to change your PIN.
  • Please wait 15 minutes or longer after any myUFV change before you log in again to allow time for the network to synchronize all of your computer accounts‌.
