Copyright Guide

As of November 9, 2012, UFV is no longer operating under an Access Copyright license, which means that we are now operating solely under the provisions of the Copyright Modernization Act (Bill C-11) and the Fair Dealing provisions within Canadian copyright law.

The copyright material previously contained on this web page has been revised and moved to the Library's new Copyright Guide.  Please feel free to contact the Copyright Librarian with questions about copyright as well.

Copyright law applies to the making of a copy of print, media or electronic materials in any format, including coursepacks, scanning, photocopying, and reformatting of audiovisual materials, among other things. Creating a hyperlink to resources currently available online (including linking to articles and other items in the library's licensed databases) is generally not considered to be making a copy.
