Resident Assistants (RAs)

RAs are student leaders in the Baker House community. Each floor has two in-house RAs who are responsible for developing a space where all residents feel comfortable and safe. RAs are available for support, maintenance concerns, lockouts, and are trained to deal with any emergencies and conflicts that arise. RAs work closely with student associations and create various services and programs for residents. RAs are also responsible for discipline in the community and making sure that residents respect their community and each other.  This position requires skills in leadership, programming, administration, and engagement.

Front Desk Assistants (FDAs)

FDAs are student leaders who assist residents with operational and accommodation issues. Under Housing Operations, FDAs help maintain Baker House's facilities and provide administrative support to the Housing Coordinator. Customer service is an essential part of this position and prospective FDA applicants can expect a high level of interaction with residents. This position requires good interpersonal skills as well as a high level of organization.

Work Study Postions

Each year, Baker House has work study postions that are focussed on programming activities and events to help build community. Work study positions are posted on Career Link in early September and January.‌
