Helping UFV prepare for emergencies

UFV's Emergency Management team protects what matters most during dangerous situations: the lives and critical assets of the UFV community.

A key way you can help our emergency management efforts is by being prepared. Please take time to become familiar with UFV's emergency procedures, important phone numbers, and evacuation areas. That way, you'll be ready to help yourself and others if there is ever a threat or crisis on campus.

Emergency Preparedness at UFV

In any emergency, UFV's priorities are to:

Keep responders healthy and safe
Save lives, reduce suffering, and protect public health
Safeguard UFV's property and infrastructure
Restore UFV operations
Protect the environment
Reduce economic & social losses

To put these priorities into action, the University has carefully developed its Emergency Management Plan. This plan provides guiding principles that can be applied flexibly within any emergency or hazardous scenario.

Each department draws on the Emergency Management Plan to develop its departmental emergency plan as well as a business continuity plan.
