Melanie has a long history with UFV, originally taking the Social Services Diploma program in the 1980s and then was one of the first graduates in the BSW program. She started teaching sessionally in 1997, and has taught on and off since then. Melanie worked for many years with First Nations and Aboriginal communities, providing social work services, including child welfare, training, and mental health services.
