Sandy Hill's Biography
I grew up in a safe working class privileged environment where most of us were expected to attend university. Being the first person in my family to ever attend university was a challenge that I never quite mastered. Upon graduation, marrying my high school sweetheart and by a series of accidents and my father-in–law’s direction, I became a teacher. I have taught in a number of settings which include teacher education cohorts; regular, gifted and special needs students at the high school and junior high levels; adult learners in childbirth and folk dance classes; university field hockey players and youngsters from infants to young adult in Sunday schools and camps. I have loved it all.
What interests me is the myriad of variables that make a successful learning experience. I pay particular attention to both how we are in each other’s presence and what a teacher brings to that learning environment. I do believe my prime responsibility as a teacher was to bless children.
