Educated at the beautiful University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, I taught in public high schools in Saskatchewan and British Columbia for 15 years. My course load included Math, General Science, Biology as well as varied subjects for students with cognitive delays and learning disabilities.  When my children were young, I worked with Community Services in a work skills program adults with cognitive delay for 7 years prior to joining the Upgrading and University Preparation Department.

Initially I taught the Workplace Task program in Abbotsford and Mission. Currently I teach Multi-level Math and Math 084.

Teaching Philosophy

All students are unique individuals. As such, they bring their strengths, learning styles and academic aspirations to UFV. I strive to be approachable and make the learning environment inclusive and respectful to encourage student engagement.  Course material is presented in a multi-modal manner including time for one-to-one assistance, hopefully accommodating the student’s learning styles.

Upgrading through UFV was absolutely the right decision for me. I could get my foot in the door at a wonderful university, and despite having not yet completed high school, I feel like a real university student! The upgrading courses are fun and have a relaxed environment — allowing you to thrive and flourish academically.
