Adult Basic Education University Preparation (ABEUP)
Adult Basic Education University Preparation (ABEUP) is different from the ABE Program in two ways:
- Students take Provincial Level (Grade 12 Equivalency) ABE courses only.
- While taking ABE courses, students are also able to enroll in up to three first-year university courses.
Entrance Requirements | Course Descriptions | Fees and Costs
Adult Basic Education University Prep (ABEUP) courses are for students who need to upgrade in order to meet prerequisites for university classes.
The ABEUP program is designed for those who have completed ENG 081 or are assessed at the ENG 091 level.
You can take upgrading classes in math, English, chemistry, physics, biology, computing science, and First Nations studies. You can start at a level that's comfortable and meets your skill level.
UUP staff can help you figure out where to start and they can help you to develop an education plan. Whether you're ready to take the first step, or if you simply have a few questions, you can email email@example.com or fill out our Book a UUP appointment form to speak with someone.
The following table lists the provincially recognized ABE Provincial Level (Grade 12 Equivalency) courses. These courses meet the BC Ministry of Education requirements and guidelines.
NOTE: Provincial Level courses may be used to fulfill the requirements of the Adult Graduation Diploma (Adult Dogwood).
