How to apply

1

Apply to UFV

If you are a Canadian citizen or resident/landed immigrant, fill out UFV's online application.

Application deadline: Apply online for the winter intake by September 29. Apply online for the fall 2018 intake from October 2 to May 25, 2018.

International applicants please note: all international applicants follow an alternate admissions timeline and application procedures. Contact UFV International at 604-854-4544 or visit the UFV International website for information about admission. Different tuition and fees also apply. International applicants should follow the portfolio guidelines and use them to submit a portfolio by mail. All elements except the workbook/journal may be submitted electronically.

2

Attend New Student Orientation

The New Student Orientation provides campus and studio tours, an intro to your Academic Advisor, a program planning tutorial, and a course registration workshop. This event takes place in May and December each year. Sign up ahead to save your spot.
3

Submit your portfolio

Follow the portfolio submission guidelines to prepare your portfolio. In addition to 10 to 12 pieces of original work, include your résumé and three reflections, as outlined in the guidelines. Submit your portfolio using Slideroom. Incomplete portfolios may compromise your acceptance into the program.

Please follow portfolio requirements carefully and submit all essential items.

Portfolio submission deadline: Submit portfolio through the Slideroom portal by September 29 for the winter intake and May 25, 2018, for the fall 2018 intake.

If you apply after the deadline, please contact Paula Funk, BFA Adademic Advisor, for a submission extension.

4

Wait for your acceptance letter

All accepted applicants will receive a letter of acceptance from the Office of the Registrar. To accept your offer and secure your seat in the Visual Arts program, pay your $200 registration deposit. View payment methods.

5

Register for courses

Begin your program planning prior to registering for courses. You may also choose to see an advisor to assist you with your planning.

Registration for fall 2017 courses takes place after the admissions process is finalized, typically beginning in mid-June. Follow the steps to find out how to register and use the myUFV portal to find your pre-assigned registration time.
