Center for General Studies


The Center for General Studies provides academic advising for students who are interested in entering the General Studies Diploma, or the Bachelor of General Studies Degree at UFV.

The Bachelor of General Studies program was developed at UFV in the of Fall 2002. Since the beginning of the program, Mandy Klepic has enjoyed talking with prospective and enrolled students about the opportunities that the BGS degree or diploma offers. Mandy says "I enjoy seeing students prosper in the study of general arts, and I am proud to be involved in the academic process."The General Studies Advisor provides important information and tools for General Studies student success.


Academic Advising includes

 

  • New Information for prospective General Studies students
  • Scheduling individual appointments to advise current students at the Abbotsford and Chilliwack campuses
  • Evaluating program requirements for students as well as advice on future course selection

  • Providing students with progress assessments
  • Evaluating transfer credit in relation to a General Studies diploma or degree
  • Advising for graduation procedures for general studies students
  • Providing student letters of support, reference or confirmation of graduation completion
  • Proving information, resources and support for General Studies studies in academic difficulty

General Studies Advising is available an the Abbotsford campus weekly, and monthly on the Chilliwack campus.
