Children and the City A Child- and Youth-friendly Community Development Conference
February 13 & 14, 2008 Chandigarh, India (at Panjab University)
UCFV and the Panjab University, with support from the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, are proud to present this collaborative conference to bring together child-friendly community experts with academics, business, government and non-governmental leaders in the Punjab.
The objective of this conference is to learn about and assess the potential for child-friendly development in the city of Chandigarh and greater Punjab.

Dr. B.S. Ghuman > dean of the Faculty of Arts and coordinator of the Canadian Studies Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Member of the Indian Members Council (Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute) and expert on public administration and governance.
Professor Cherie Enns > professor of geography and child-friendly cities expert at the University College of the Fraser Valley, Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada.
Keynote Address:
Dr. Eliana Riggio Chaudhuri > consultant and former coordinator for the International Child-friendly Cities Secretariat at the UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre in Florence, Italy.

Break-out workshops: Case-studies of child-friendly development projects will be presented. |
