Hello, I'm Kelly McLeod, a second year science student at UFV. The great thing about getting my education here is that even though I'm an honours physics major with a math minor, I am not restricted to taking only courses related to my field. I can (and have) been in history, philosophy, theatre and art history courses...just for fun!!
When I am not studying in our incredible Math Centre, I love taking advantage of the wonderful area we live in...hiking, rock climbing, swimming, snowboarding...the Fraser Valley has it all!
Should you have any questions or comments, send me an email at the address at the bottom of this page...I would love to hear from you!

Hi! I’m Stacy Warren and I’m in my third year of a Bachelor’s of Science degree, studying Biology. I live in Langley and I love how close UFV is to home. Originally I thought I would transfer after my first year, but now I enjoy UFV too much and want to finish my degree here. The small class sizes are great and I really appreciate the one-on-one interaction with the profs and their willingness to help out students outside of class time. After I finish my degree at UFV, I hope to get accepted into dental school to become a dentist. When I’m not in class, I enjoy spending time with friends, swimming, hiking, and scrapbooking. This past September I was an O-leader for New Student Orientation and had fun leading tours around UFV. I look forward to taking more upper level classes here and finishing my degree in the next year or two!

Hi! I’m in my fourth year of studies here at University of the Fraser Valley – I can’t believe it, I guess time flies when you’re having fun! I am in the Bachelor of Arts program pursuing a double extended-minor in French and Geography.
I graduated high school in 2005 from Sardis Secondary in Chilliwack and chose UFV because it was close and I could continue living at home. I try and stay involved on campus, and that has made my experience here that much more amazing. I currently sit as an elected student representative on the Student Union Society, and I also work on campus in the Student Life department where I get to do cool things like plan, promote, and run events like free student barbecues. When I am on campus and not studying or working, I spend a lot of time at the University House student lounge where I am constantly meeting new people. Outside of school I like to travel, go hiking, learn about different cultures, and sing a bit of karaoke. I look forward to meeting you at UFV soon!
Manmeet ChhinaProgram: Biology/PsychologyInterests: Reading, Traveling, Watching Hockey (GO CANUCKS!), Volunteering, etc.
Presently, I am the president of the ACE (Aiding Communities Everywhere) Club, which is an UFV club that focuses on addressing social and health issues in local and overseas communities, through fundraising events. In the past, we have raised funds for such organizations as the Alzheimer's Society of BC and BC Cancer Agency ("The Relay for Life"). On a global scale, we raised funds to buy malaria nets for people of developing countries, most at risk for this disease. Additionally, I also volunteer at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital in the Emergency Department.

Heya! My name is Joddi Alden and I am a 4th year English and French Literature Bachelor of Arts student here at the University of the Fraser Valley. I plan on graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature sometime in the near future (bank account permitting) and then plan on attending graduate school, focusing in women’s Literature.
I am a born and raised Fraser Valley girl and, during several summers, have traveled all over BC to the various towns and cities to which our beautiful province is home. So chances are, if you are from BC, I have visited your town! Last summer I had the privilege of studying French in Quebec at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and this summer I went to China to study Mandarin. I have volunteered at UFV in the Student Orientations every year as a Student Leader and have also participated in the International Conversation Partner Program for several years.
Most of my free time outside of school is, of course, spent studying like a good little student, eating pizza, mooching sushi and playing the piano. UFV was one of my top choices for post-secondary studies since:
- It is close to home and that means more free food!
- The class sizes are small, generally about 30 students, which allows for much more professional mentorship and direction between the professors and students.
- UFV promotes a wonderful student life and focuses on encouraging diversity among the students.
If you ever have any questions about UFV or Fraser Valley related questions, or if you just want to translate some of your French homework, by all means come ask and I’ll be happy to help! Welcome to UFV!

Hi, I am Gabby Kettner! I am a third year student at UFV... doesn’t seem like I’ve been here that long :) I started out in the Bachelor of Science with a Biology Major, but with time I realized that I wanted to be a dental hygienist, so I am now completing my pre-requisites for the program.
I went to high school at Abby Collegiate and graduated in 2007. At the time I really didn’t know where I wanted to go to school. I was kind of skeptic about UFV at first, but chose to go there because it was close to home and I had heard a lot of good things about it. I loved it here, so decided to do my education at UFV. I like to stay involved, so I am the marketing chair for the International Development Student Club (IDSC) and I am also an orientation leader. I love to hike, go on walks with my dog, play Nintendo Wii, and hang out with friends.
Now you've met them - got a question you want to ask one of them? Send it here and we'll forward to them; you should get a response fairly quickly (depending on their schedules!).
