Tab-Set Pendant

Using a jeweler's saw, students will create a pendant, complete with modified prongs for setting a stone, from one single piece of metal. This class is suitable for beginners as well as those with some jewelry making experience. Supply fee of $45 payable in class. Cash only please.

Stacking Rings

Learn to create simple wire rings that stack together to create a great statement. One of the rings will hold the crowning glory, a beautiful bezel-set gemstone. Sparkle and shine! No experience is necessary for this class, though students with some jewelry-making skills will find it informational as well. Supply fee of $60 payable in class. Cash only please.

Jewelry Bootcamp

Join us for a full week of jewellery-making boot camp!! Spend a full five days learning to fabricate jewellery with renowned instructor Barrie Edwards. Students will start by making a basic ring and during the week will progress through different projects expanding and perfecting their skills along the way. There will be a variety of projects to choose from to ensure each student creates something they enjoy while still working at their own pace. With the    number of dedicated hours involved, students will be encouraged to work on multiple projects at a time and most can expect to complete at least 3 or 4 pieces with the potential for many more! Materials fees will vary with chosen projects, though students can expect minimum costs to run approximately $150. Most projects will consist of sterling silver though many projects can be done in copper to keep costs down. Tools will be supplied with the option of purchasing the basic tool kit at the end of the week at a special price.

Earring Fundamentals

This course is open to all skill levels and is a great introduction for beginners. This course is filled with tips for the more advanced jewelry designer as well. Students will learn about beading tools, color/shape combinations and techniques for excellent quality earring design. Master the art of proper head pin bending and using jump rings. Bring needle nose pliers, chain nose pliers and wire cutters. The instructor will have tools to share with students however please bring your own if you prefer. Also bring any extra lighting and eye glasses if required. A $20 supply fee is payable in class (cash only).

Drilled Stone Pendant

Perfect for those people that love to collect pebbles in their travels. Not all rocks are created equal and students will learn to identify which ones will work best for the drilling technique. Once the hole is created, we'll show you how to line the hole with sterling silver and turn it into a beautiful keepsake necklace. No experience is necessary for this class though students with some jewelry-making skills will find it informational as well. Supply fee of $50 payable in class. Cash only please.

Wire Wrapped Ammonite Pendant    

This course is open to all skill levels and is an introduction to professional looking solderless wire work. Students will develop skills to bend and manipulate square and 1/2 round copper wire correctly to secure any shaped stones without any glue or soldering. Bring chain nose pliers and wire cutters and optional nylon jaw pliers, bail making pliers, watch tools and tape measure. The instructor will have tools to share with students however please bring your own if you prefer. Also bring any extra lighting and eye glasses if required. A $20 supply fee is payable in class (cash only).

Learn how to create professional looking solderless pendants. Discover square and half round wire sterling silver wire. Explore the techniques involved in creating a beautiful pendant with your favorite stones. Choose from a variety of semi-precious stones for your project. Bring chain nose pliers, wire cutters, nylon jaw pliers, watch tools and a measuring tape. The instructor will have tools to share however bring your own if you prefer. Hammered Chain Bracelet

Discover the basics of silversmithing and make a bracelet that you’ll want to show off to friends. In this class you will learn to use sterling silver wire to create coils with wooden dowels, cutting them with a jeweller’s saw, annealing and soldering the individual links and subsequently joining them together to create a bracelet. Learn to use a torch to solder, some basic texturing and shaping of links, and how to use a tumbler to polish your finished projects. Whether you have wire-working skills or not, this is a great way to ease into soldered jewelry. A $60 supply fee is payable in class (cash only).

Framed Pendant

Creating a framed pendant is simple once you know the little shortcuts and secrets! Start with texturing the background, add the frame, then turn it into an elegant pendant. For the more experienced, there is the option of adding a gemstone. Not all students will have time to complete the bezel set gemstone, but will go home will full details of how to include this in future projects. Students will need some previous jewelry soldering experience. A $60 supply fee is payable in class (cash only)

Jewelry Silversmithing Beginner

This introductory class is designed for those who would like to make jewellery for themselves or as gifts. You will create two or three different pieces of sterling silver jewellery using the basic techniques of sawing, filing, soldering, and basic stone setting. A basic tool kit is required, available from the instructor at first class for approximately $85 (cash only please). Sterling silver and gemstones are available from instructor once the basic tool kit is purchased. Estimated cost of the first project is $25. If you already have a gemstone you wish to use, bring it to class to have its suitability determined. No previous experience or art background is necessary. Wear casual clothes.

Jewelry–Do It All

In this fun and interactive course, students will learn the fundamentals of jewelry design. This course is perfect for anyone who would like to kick it up a notch; whether you are a beginner, a jewelry designer running a small business, or someone who really enjoys the hobby of creating jewelry, this course will have plenty to offer. You will learn how to create solid, long lasting, timeless jewelry. We will play with ways to open up creativity, discuss the aspects of jewelry as a business and how to create jewelry that is meaningful to you for yourself and others. We will make two styles of earrings, a bracelet, a necklace and a pendant. Discover chain maille, wire wrapping, knotting techniques, crimping and more. An $85 supply is payable in class (cash only)

Double Wire Ring
