Consul General to speak at UCFV on Canada/U.S. Relations

Roger Simmons, Canada’s Consul General in Seattle, Washington, will speak on Canada/U.S. trading opportunities and relations at the University College of the Fraser Valley on Wednesday, October 16.

The free presentation is open to the public and will include a Q&A session. It will be held in the Abbotsford campus lecture theatre B101 from 2:30–3:30 pm. Refreshments will be provided.

The Honourable Roger Simmons, P.C., was appointed Canada’s Consul General for Seattle in August, 1998, bringing to Seattle a wealth of experience in education, small business, publishing, and public service. He has a keen interest in political, border, trade, environmental, and resource issues essential to Canada’s concerns in his four-state territory of Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. While in Seattle, he has worked to resolve the Pacific salmon dispute, repeal a restrictive United States border measure, expand regional economic links, and advance Canada’s position on other trans-boundary issues.
