Start the new year right with Continuing Studies at UCFV

If a new year finds you making resolutions about improving your skills, learning a new hobby, or embarking on a new career, you’ll want to check out Continuing Studies at the University College of the Fraser Valley.

The new Continuing Studies brochure hit the streets last week, and courses and workshops for the new year are also posted on the web at www.ucfv.bc.ca/cs.

There's something for everyone in Continuing Studies at the University College of the Fraser Valley. The breadth of courses ranges from cooking to computers, agriculture to automotive, and fine arts to first aid.

You can learn to make jewellery or upgrade your bookkeeping skills; take a fiction workshop from a published novelist or learn to ride a motorcycle safely.

Continuing Studies is the new name for Continuing Education at UCFV, which has been offer been offering high-quality lifelong education options to people in the Fraser Valley since 1974, and is well known for high standards and consistent quality. The Continuing Studies department is now working with other UCFV departments to develop certificates and short courses related to academic specialties.

Continuing Studies at UCFV is divided into four main categories: Arts and Career, Business and Computers, Health and First Aid, and Trades and Technology. Within these categories are dozens of subspecialties with courses for every interest.

“The revamped Continuing Studies area at UCFV offers a wide array of effective educational opportunities,” says UCFV spokesperson Bob Warick. “This includes many well-proven courses and programs but also many new options. Continuing Studies at UCFV is geared to meet the education and training needs and interests of our communities. The Winter 2003 program will offer everything from short courses to help people gain new skills or for their own enjoyment, to professional programs which will lead to new career opportunities.”
