Nominations invited for UCFV Distinguished Alumni awards

Do you know an outstanding UCFV graduate? Someone who has excelled in his or her field, shown exemplary leadership, or accomplished something really special?

Consider nominating them for the UCFV Distinguished Alumni Award, being offered for the first time this year. UCFV has been producing graduates for more than 25 years now, and many of them have gone on to impressive accomplishments.

The new Distinguished Alumni Award will be presented to an alumnus of UCFV who has achieved outstanding distinction in career, educational achievement, or community service. This non-monetary award will recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of exceptional UCFV alumni.

"The Distinguished Alumni award is a terrific opportunity to recognize an outstanding UCFV alumnus for his/her community contributions and personal successes. Knowing there are many success stories, the UCFV Alumni Association felt it important to celebrate UCFV alumni and their accomplishments by creating this award," says Stacey Irwin, chair of the UCFV Alumni board.

Nominators may be UCFV employees, students, alumni, board members, or members of the community.  Recipients of the distinguished alumni award normally must agree to attend the award ceremonies to receive the award.

The award cannot be posthumous, and people who have direct political, legal, or budgetary authority over UCFV are not eligible to be nominated.

The deadline for nominations is Monday, March 31, 2003. The first Distinguished Alumni award will be presented at the UCFV awards ceremony in June.

For more information or a nomination form contact Alyson Schimmelmann of the UCFV Alumni office at 604-864-4694 or email schimmea@ucfv.ca
