Poet Fred Wah to read at UCFV

Acclaimed poet Fred Wah will read at the University College of the Fraser Valley this Wednesday, October 27, at 7:30 pm at University House on the Abbotsford campus.

Wah is a poet, editor, professor emeritus, and Governor General’s award winner.

He was one of the founders of the poetry newsletter, TISH, in the 1960s. Among his many poetry titles are Pictograms from the Interior of B.C. (1975), Waiting for Saskatchewan (1986, a Governor General's Award winner), Music at the Heart of Thinking (1987), Alley Alley Home Free (1992), and Diamond Grill (1996), a bio-fiction.

The Wah reading is part of the B.C. Writers Series being presented at UCFV this fall. Upcoming events include Wayde Compton on Wed, November 3 and Ashok Mathur on Wed, November 17. (Both at 7:30 pm at University House.)

The reading is presented free of charge. University House is located at the east side of the Abbotsford campus. Parking ($1) is available by entering off of McKenzie Road.
