UCFV hosts foreign film festival

Prepare to immerse yourself in foreign films again this fall as UCFV’s Modern Languages Institute presents its annual international film festival. All films are free of charge and begin at 7 pm, running in the lecture theatre (B101) on the Abbotsford campus. The festival runs Wednesdays from September 29 to November 3. Not all films may be suitable for younger or more sensitive viewers.

Lyrical and evocative, Prisoner of the Mountains represents a balanced and telling examination of the absurdity of war. Director Sergei Bodrov uses an intimate tapestry depicting two Russian captives and their small band of captors to illustrate the similarities of human beings on either side of the battle lines.
