Tired of waiting in traffic? Sick of paying for parking? Lonely on your long commute? Gas prices getting you down?
By carpooling, cycling or taking transit to campus, you can save oodles of dollars and maybe even get dropped off at the door.
UFV has some options for you to help you on your way!
Carpooling: Find a friend or colleague that lives close, share the commute and a carpool pass. Not only will you get access to prime carpool parking spots, but you can split the costs of gas and parking. And if you are scratching your head, wondering who to share a ride with from UFV, check out UFV's rideshare website or the carpool bulletin boards located in the Abbotsford campus Building G and Canada Education Park campus Building A.
Ride your Bike to School: If you live within cycling distance and have a bike in decent condition, try riding your bike to campus! In traffic you are faster than a car, and you get your daily exercise so you can skip the gym. In the gym you have access to lockers and showers to freshen up. UFV Facilities department also has secure bike lockers to rent for those of us with expensive bells and whistles on our bikes.
Try Transit: For those living within the valleyMax and Chilliwack transit system, this means that you can just sit back, relax and enjoy your commute. For students, using the U-Pass means transit in Abbotsford, Mission and Chilliwack is taken care of. And for those not eligible for the U-Pass, you can pick up a monthly or semester pass from the UFV Bookstore.
Alleviate the headache and frustrations of the lonely commute and try something different!
