2010 DEPARTMENTAL AWARDS DINNER

Eighteen graduands and six faculty celebrate at the 2010 edition of the Departmental Awards Dinner.  As always, it was a great celebration for those who are finally out of UFV and onto the next chapter of their lives, just as it was a little bittersweet for the faculty who have come to know them during their stay. 

The Doug Nicol Award recognizes a student who more than anyone else contributed to departmentalal life and extracurricular activity both inside and outside the Graduate Undergraduate Students (GUS).  This year's winner was Ashley Peters, shown here receiving her award from Department Head Ken Brealey.  Congratulations Ashley!	The Association of American Geographers Award recognizes high academic achievement in human and physical geography and good contribution to institutional life.  A leading light in the university's sustainability campaign, this years winner was Melissa Kendzierski, shown here receiving her award from the Department Head.  Congratulations Melissa!
The Canadian Association of Geographers Award recognizes the student with the best overall CGPA in a Geography Major program.  This year's winner was Annette deVries, shown here receiving her award from the Department Head.  Congratulations Annette!	Here are the three departmental award winners for 2010.  Yet again, the bar is set very high for next year.  Well done, Melissa, Ashley and Annette.
