Dr. Sarah Beaulieu
Dr. Sarah Beaulieu is an Assistant Professor in the School of Culture, Media and Society at the University of the Fraser Valley and Faculty Associate in the Community Health and Social Innovation (CHASI) Hub. With a research focus in modern conflict, her work has included the first in-depth archaeological excavations to take place at any of Canada’s 24 WWI internment camps. She is also a leading researcher contributing to the search for the missing children from Canada’s Indian Residential School sites. Dr. Beaulieu’s research is diverse, but what ties it all together is her interest in applying an anthropological lens to the contemporary past in an effort to reveal the stories of, and give voice to, disenfranchised groups that have been overlooked in the historical record.
