Let Us Help You Succeed in Your Courses!

All of the ASC's tutoring support is offered in-person and online. If you have used ASC online services before, the booking process will already be familiar to you. If you have not, ASC staff are available to help you every step of the way. Please use the link in the right-hand sidebar "Book an Appointment" to get started.

Our committment to you is to provide the academic support you need regardless of the outside circumstances that affect how we deliver that support. At this time, the best way to contact us for assistance is through our email asc@ufv.ca. We do appreciate your patience and flexibility as we will not be able to respond to phone calls or messages immediately.

Sincerely, all of the ASC Admin Staff and Tutors

The Academic Success Centre (ASC) offers FREE student-focused tutoring, workshops, online resources and support programs to develop students’ academic skills and knowledge. Peer tutors work with students on personal learning strategies and approaches, and provide writing and subject-area support under the supervision of the Learning Strategist and the Coordinator of the Academic Success Centre. While the ASC has work spaces and resources at the Abbotsford campus in G126, and the Chilliwack (CEP) campus in A1204, as well as at our drop-in locations, we have in-person and online services during the Winter 2022 semester.

PLEASE NOTE that tutors at the Academic Success Centre do not provide support for students during or about their exams.

Our Commitment to Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (EDI)

The community of UFV has identified inclusivity as one of our core values. We welcome everyone and show consideration and respect for all experiences and ideas. In 2017, we, along with other Canadian universities, committed to implementing seven inclusive excellence principles to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion. These principles include a commitment to develop an action plan and to integrating equity, diversity, and inclusivity into all of our actions and offerings.

The Academic Success Centre (ASC) is committed to creating welcoming, equitable, and safe spaces for all UFV students. We acknowledge the existence of individual and structural barriers and biases that reflect the power and privileges inherent in our society. The ASC team invites UFV students into an inclusive and low barrier learning environment that strives to empower individuals in working toward attaining their full academic potential.

We endeavour to:
  • Listen to and value individual experiences and perspectives
  • Be open to learning and growing through meaningful dialogue
  • Build professional relationships based on genuine care, empathy, and curiosity
  • Be an ally for individuals and groups who encounter structural barriers to their academic pursuits
  • Develop and share learning strategies and resources that align with principles of Universal Design for Learning

Earn your grade the honest way! Check our Academic Integrity Matters website for support and strategies.
