COVID-19 notice: UFV Athletics & Campus Recreation's response

All in-person wellness & campus recreation facility, activities and programs are suspended until further notice as precautionary measures against COVID-19, this also includes all internal and external facility rentals.

Have fun, be active and meet new people. Play organized drop-in sports in a safe and fair playing environment. All sports are Co-ed, with the exception of basketball league. Intersted in starting up a sport we don't offer? Share your idea via email at

FREE to UFV students, employees and alumni

  • Drop-in sports are open to anyone who presents their UFV Campus Card.
  • All drop-in sports are first-come first-serve.
  • A Sport Organizer (student leader) will be on hand to help arrange teams and sign participants in.
  • All participants must wear athletic clothing and non-marking shoes when participating in drop-in activities. 
  • Staying hydrated while playing a sport is important; ensure empty bottles are placed in garbage bins.

All participants are required to read and sign a waiver or informed consent prior to participating in any Campus Recreation activity.

Futsal (Indoor Soccer)

Futsal is popular in South America and is a form of indoor soccer. Games are open to all levels and are co-ed. Sport Organizers will be on hand during to help organize teams and to sign people in. Play with friends, or join in on a game! Futsal will be sharing the South gym with another booking, so please be respectful of this.

Open to all levels of players. Play a game of basketball with friends, or join a game and make new friends on the courts. Sport Organizers will be on hand during to help organize teams and to sign people in. Two full courts will be open for play, one court open to Men and the other court to Women. Co-ed opportunities are available if all participants are in agreement.

Always wanted to try badminton? Perhaps you are seasoned player? Like all our sports, all skill levels are welcome! Due to the number of players it is encouraged that people play doubles/mixed doubles.

Ever hear of Pickleball? This surprisingly popular sport is a mix between table tennis, badminton and tennis, but double the fun! Come out and give it a try. Equipment is provided.

Come play some volleyball! Drop-in volleyball is an inclusive activity for all levels, so feel welcome to come and try volleyball in a non-competitive environment.

Campus Recreation also offers a variety of intramural sport leagues where you can play in an atmosphere that celebrates teamwork, mutual respect, and of course, fun!

Don’t have time to commit to a specific time? We offer a variety of Open Gym times for those who purchase a RecPass memberships. Play basketball, badminton, indoor soccer, or pickleball. Most equipment is provided, and sports are organized on a first-come first-serve basis. Certain rules will apply depending on the sport. Check with the Client Service Desk (E150) for more information.
