Welcome to Tina Kerton, Director of Safety & Security.

Tina comes to UFV from the RCMP where she has served as a peace officer for the past 18 years, most recently as Corporal in the Surrey Intimate Partner Violence Unit. Tina is a skilled and experienced security professional, bringing a variety of experience from her various roles within the RCMP, including a Limited Duration Post of two years with the Nisga’a people in the Lisims-Nass Valley detachment.

Tina holds a Bachelor of Arts (English major) and Bachelor of Education from UBC, along with RCMP training in Senior Leadership Development, Incident Command, Phased Interviews and Major Crime Investigations. 

Prior to becoming a police officer, Tina was a teacher in the Abbotsford school district for five years. Together with her demonstrated leadership, commitment to public safety, and passion for fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment, we are very pleased to have Tina join UFV to lead the Safety and Security portfolio.


Request to Serve Liquor

We are excited to announce a new Request to Serve Liquor process. 

There is no need to fill out a PDF form anymore.
If you wish to hold an event serving liquor, please submit an Event Application Form and attach all of the documents required.

A Special Event Permit is also required from BC Liquor Distribution branch
