Teaching Philosophy

Amanda loves teaching. In the classroom (in-person and online) she seeks to encourage curiosity, motivate critical thinking, and facilitate a desire to learn. She offers students numerous opportunities to apply their knowledge and prepares them to work in academia, healthcare, and/or the community.

Teaching Interests

Sport and exercise psychology, health promotion, behaviour change, active health

Research Interests

Amanda is an avid researcher. She uses partnered approaches to optimize supportive care and inform effective physical activity opportunities to improve quality of life for individuals affected by cancer (and other chronic conditions) across the lifespan. She is recognized internationally for her expertise and contributions to the fields of pediatric exercise oncology and adolescent and young adult exercise oncology.
