Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Human Rights office

About

UFV's Equity Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and Human Rights Office (HRO) aim to foster an equitable and inclusive culture rooted in human rights at UFV where everyone is supported and respected. We do this by working with everyone – students, staff, faculty, and community partners.

UFV is located on S’olh Temexw, the traditional territory of the Stó:lō people, the Halqemeylem speaking people of the river. We are committed to the work of reconciliation and take seriously the Calls to Action identified within the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Report, and these inform our work.

This work is also informed by the BC Human Rights Code, Accessible BC Act, Universities Canada EDIA Plan, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and the Ministry Mandate Letter.

Internally, there are policies and procedures that frame and guide our work:

Reporting into the Vice Provost Office, the EDI and HRO work collaboratively with teams and departments across the University.
