Human Rights advising

The Human Rights Office works with objectivity and impartiality to address specific human rights, and code-related harassment and discrimination and complaints, and works collaboratively throughout the University to foster a culture of human rights across the university.

Consult with the HRO

If you have any Human Rights concerns, ideas, potential complaints or complaints, you can consult us.

Why book a consultation with the HRO?

  • You need further info on formal and informal human rights complaints procedures at UFV.

  • You are affected by an incident and wondering whether said incident is a breach of you or an individual’s human rights.

  • If you have a complaint and wish to file an official complaint, we can assist you. (See the Policies page for documents related to filing a complaint.)

 All our consultations are confidential.

We are also open to cross disciplinary collaboration or issues that may be intersectional. Not all issues are clear cut. Some issues may be individual, affecting a particular group of people or systemic.

  2. based on any prohibited ground of discrimination (e.g., race, sex, national origin, disability, religion, etc.)

  3. which results in the exclusion or preference of an individual or group within the university community
