Safety guidelines for coming to campus

This information is subject to change based on Public Health Officer orders and guidelines. Check back often.

 Do your daily health check

 Required Winter 2022

Before you come to UFV, do a health check. Don't come to campus if you're sick.

Stay home if you're sick

 Required Winter 2022

You don't need a doctor's note, but you do need to submit this Student declaration of absence form to your instructor.

Follow specific guidelines

 Required Winter 2022

The courses you take and campus spaces you access may have specific safety protocols in place.

Be prepared to wear a mask

 Mandatory in indoor public spaces

Wearing masks is now mandatory for all UFV indoor public spaces. This aligns with new health & safety measures released on Dec 22.

Wash your hands

 Always recommended

Frequent hand-washing is one of the best ways to keep germs from spreading. If you don't have access to soap and water, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

Proof of vaccination

Classes, labs, shops & cafeterias

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is not required to attend in-person classes, seminars or tutorials, or other educational settings on UFV campuses (shops, labs, etc.)

Proof of vaccination is not required to access on-campus cafeterias.

Students living in
on-campus housing

Proof of first vaccination will be required through the BC Vaccine Card by September 23 and full vaccination by Oct. 24. UFV recognizes that a transition period beyond September 7 may be needed for students arriving from outside BC and Canada in order to access vaccinations and obtain a BC Vaccine Card. Further information will be provided in the coming week.

Students participating in off-campus activities

UFV students are required to follow all proof of vaccination regulations of the external partner when participating in off-campus activities (for example medical clinical placements).

Athletics

Students, faculty and staff now require proof of full vaccination to use UFV gyms and recreational facilities or to participate in group fitness activities.

Questions about Winter 2022?

On January 21, 2022, the UFV Student Union Society (SUS) posted an open letter regarding the January 24 return to in-person learning on UFV campuses. UFV wishes to address these concerns.
