Continuing Education is offering a Red Cross Emergency First Aid class for UFV students only.

UFV students who take this course may qualify for tuition reimbursement from the Centre for Experiential and Career Education (CECE), from the Student Experiential Fund (SEF). Email cece@ufv.ca to find out if you qualify for the reimbursement.


Red Cross Psychological First Aid

Description

This course is for those who require in-depth knowledge and techniques to recognize and assist people in crisis after experiencing loss, grief, trauma, and stress, with an emphasis on self-care and personal protection. Learners will apply the Red Cross Look, Listen, Link, Live model – a resiliency-building approach to emotional, psychological, and social well-being that teaches learners how to support themselves and others to cope with the effects of various types of stress and linking them to resources and support within themselves or in the community. The course uses primarily case-based learning and includes the latest evidence from the international community. Prior to the in-class session, students must complete a 45-90 minute online learning component. Three-year expiry.
