Intake appointment

What to expect at your intake appointment

It can feel overwhelming to start studying at university! At your intake appointment, an accessibility advisor will explain everything you need to know.

Intake appointments are about one hour long. They can be longer or shorter as needed.

An intake appointment is a chance to:

  • Ask your questions.
  • Tell us about your academic and career goals.
  • Talk about the barriers you are expecting or experiencing.
  • Share about accommodations and supports that have worked well for you in the past.
  • Plan which academic accommodations you will need for university.

How to get ready for your intake appointment:

  • Be prepared to share about your experiences in the classroom, while studying, and during exams.
