Centre for Accessibility Services

Trades students

If you are starting a trades program at UFV, you can register with the Centre for Accessibility Services and receive academic accommodations.

It is important to meet with our trades accessibility advisor approximately six weeks before your program start date, so you can discuss and plan what supports you’re able to use at UFV, and what supports you can use for your Skilled Trades BC exams.

How to arrange academic accommodations for your Trades program

1

Send us your pre-intake form

Your pre-intake form helps our accessibility advisors get to know you and your unique needs and abilities.

Do you have questions about your pre-intake form? We have drop-in hours to help you with any questions.

2

CAS will contact you to schedule your intake appointment

After you submit your pre-intake form, a representative from the Centre for Accessibility Services (CAS) will contact you within 2 business days to schedule your intake appointment. This intake appointment will be with an accessibility advisor and you can bring a support person with you if you wish.

3

Gather your documentation

To receive academic accommodations at UFV, you'll need to give us documentation that explains your disability and how it impacts your education. This documentation must be filled out by a medical professional.

If you don't have all your documentation ready, you can still come to your intake interview and discuss next steps with your accessibility advisor.
