This documentary film was premiered November 29, 2013 at the University of the Fraser Valley. The documentary captures the relationships between school-aged children and residents from a local long-term care nursing home that partnered in weekly ballet classes.

Longtime Canadian broadcaster Tony Parsons visited the University of the Fraser Valley’s Chilliwack campus Oct. 14, 2011 for an interactive discussion covering an array of topics.
A Life in the News explores Parsons’ career as a media personality, which has spanned more than 50 years.
He also responded to audience questions, providing insight into his life and discussing his move from Global TV to CHEK-TV in Victoria and a new contract with CBC News.
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Art Hister
On October 15, 2010 UFV's Centre for Education and Research on Aging (CERA) hosted “Adventures in Aging”, a full day of presentations and workshops. Dr Art Hister was the keynote speaker. He was introduced by UFV President Dr Mark Evered, and entertained over 200 registrants with a mixture of humour, common sense and some of the latest statistical evidence regarding aging.
Registrants came from Chilliwack, Mission, Langley and Abbotsford, filling workshop classrooms in buildings B and D. Workshops included a philosophy café; Memory: facts, tips & myths; Negotiating Homehealth; Seniors on Stage; financial planning and many others. Workshop facilitators included UFV faculty and professionals from the community.
