The MoVement Studio is a welcoming, student-led space supported by Campus Recreation, designed for the UFV community to move, recharge, and connect. Take a moment to review how to access the space, what to bring, and a few friendly reminders that help keep the studio enjoyable for everyone.
How to access the MoVement Studio
The MoVement Studio is located in V112. If you're a UFV student, employee, or alumni with a valid Campus or Alumni Card, you're eligible to drop-in during open gym time at no cost. Additional, programs and bookings will be scheduled in the calendar.
Please be aware that this space is student-led and changes to the schedule can happen without notice. We apologies for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
Rules & expectations for using the MoVement Studio
Who can use the MoVement Studio
- The MoVement Studio is open to the UFV Community only.
- All participants must read and sign a Facility Waiver form before participating in UFV Campus Recreation activities, programs or bookings.
What to wear
- We encourage you to wear appropriate fitness attire.
- No denim or items that have metal fasteners or buckles are permitted.
- Footwear: wear clean non-marking, athletic closed-toe shoes at all times.
Protect yourself from injury
- Check with a doctor prior to starting a new fitness routine.
- Don't drop dumbbells.
- Use barbell safety collars and a spotter.
- Keep bags or other items along the wall (to avoid tripping hazards).
- Report injuries, damage to equipment, or other concerns promptly to Attendant or other staff members.
Respect your fellow gym-users
- Clean up after yourself.
- Stick to a 30-minute limit on cardio equipment at peak times.
- Re-rack your weights after use.
- Use a sweat towel and wipe down all machines, benches and mats after every use with disinfectant spray after you use them.
- Turn off your cellphone/device ringers, and take calls or texts outside the studio.
Respect the fitness space
- Do not lean weights against other machines, walls or mirrors.
- Keep functional training equipment in designated area.
- Private personal training not permitted without permission in advance from the Program Manager, Campus Recreation and Active Living. (cheryl.johnson@ufv.ca)

Campus Recreation is looking for students who are passionate about physical activity, health promotion and wellness. Being part of the Campus Recreation team is a perfect way to get involved on campus, build work experience and meet other UFV students who share the same passion as you.
