The Summit (Fitness Center)

Located in Building E on the Abbotsford campus, The Summit is the on-campus fitness centre for UFV students, staff, faculty, and alumni. Our space features cardio and weight-training equipment, free weights, exercise props, Olympic lifting squat racks, and scheduled fitness classes. What you can do

Our facility supports a wide range of workouts and training formats:

  • Cardio machines (treadmills, ellipticals, spin bikes, rowing machines, ski erg)
  • Strength equipment (free weights, plate-loaded dumbbells, barbells)
  • Functional training gear (kettlebells, medicine balls, plyometric boxes, TRX, battle ropes)
  • Olympic lifting racks and multi-functional training racks
  • Scheduled fitness classes (e.g., circuits, group training)

How to get access

You will need to register for a recreation membership or purchase a day pass at the Client Service Desk (E150). Check-in is required each time you use the facility.

Important things to note:

  • All participants must have an account in the Xplor Recreation Portal to register a membership and check in.
  • The Facility Waiver form must be completed before using the facility.
  • Facility use is suitable for all fitness levels.
  • Equipment must be used according to posted guidelines. Staff may ask users to orient to unfamiliar equipment.
  • If you need an orientation or familiarization with the facility, contact the Client Service Desk.

Eligibility

Access to the Summit Fitness Centre is open to:

  • UFV students, staff, faculty and alumni
  • Community participants (non-UFV) if:
    • Accompanied by a current UFV student or employee
    • Minimum age 17 (participants under 19 require a signed waiver from a legal guardian)
  • All participants must sign a Facility Waiver and have a valid account in the Xplor Recreation Portal.
