After you apply

You have submitted your application and paid your application fee and received confirmation that you have been accepted to UFV. Congratulations! Here are your next steps to starting as a student at the University of the Fraser Valley.

Check your myUFV account frequently

myUFV is UFV's online student network. In myUFV, you can find out your registration time, register for courses, check your class schedule and grades, and receive and send emails. You will get a UFV student ID number and a temporary pin in two separate emails from the Office of the Registrar when you are admitted. You will need that number to log in. Contact the Office of the Registrar at if you need help activating your account.

Figure out your finances

Don’t wait until the last minute. Start planning how you’ll pay for university well ahead of time. UFV’s Office of Financial Aid and Awards provides information on scholarships, bursaries, student loans, and other sources of funding.

Pay your fees

Your tuition and related fees will be due approximately 10 days after classes begin. You can find out what you owe after you register through your myUFV account. Online banking is the best way to pay your fees. Just be sure to make your payment a few days prior to the deadline to ensure your financial institution can process your request. Students who choose to wait until the deadline and/or pay with cash can expect long wait times. See important registration dates for current fee payment deadlines.

Start planning for a Study Abroad experience

As soon as you have completed 30 credits at UFV, you are eligible to study abroad.

But remember: studying abroad requires more preparation than the usual overseas trip. You'll have to secure admission to a foreign university, plan your course works, secure visas, and more. Connect with Study Abroad at least 10 months before you want to begin your travel adventure.

Start planning for Co-operative Education

Gain professional work experience and sample multiple career paths. After two full-time semesters of study at UFV, you are eligible to apply to the Career Centre's Co-op program. Co-operative Education (Co-op) can enhance your résumé by combining academic studies with relevant work experience. You can get up to two years of relevant work experience while pursuing a degree.

Be sure to apply before the last Monday of the month in September, January, or May to be ready to apply for Co-op placements in the following semester.

Get a competitive edge with valuable leadership and volunteer experiences

The Co-Curricular Record (CCR) is an institutionally recognized document, in addition to your academic transcript, that provides official recognition for your out-of-classroom contributions and learning. Access your record and find opportunities that can enhance your résumé through myCampusLife
