Information Technology Services

Information Technology Services provides computing and communication services, systems, support and guidance to UFV students, faculty and staff.

IT Security

We take care of the day-to-day management of UFV cybersecurity, such as monitoring for threats and ensuring our security policies are well maintained.

Audio Visual Services

Our Audio Visual team provides consultation, recommendations, technical support, maintenance and installation for AV equipment across all UFV campuses.

Project & Portfolio Management

We facilitate, coordinate, and collaborate in cross-functional business improvement initiatives by providing project management and business analysis expertise.


Katie Tuck

As the Chief Information Officer at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV), Katie Tuck brings extensive university experience leading enterprise-level information system initiatives and aligning strategic organizational goals with innovative technology-based solutions. ‌‌

‌‌In her role, Katie is responsible for fostering the university’s reputation and heads up key areas, including:

  • IT Support & Service
  • Audio Visual Services
  • Applications Services
  • Database Administration
  • Academic Computing‌
  • Cloud, Server & Storage
  • Network Services
  • Information Security
  • Business Transformation Office

Katie comes to UFV from Yukon University where she served as Director, IT & Chief Information Officer. Katie brings strong experience leading enterprise-level information technology services, including infrastructure, enterprise applications, networking, classroom technology, telecommunications and security. She has experience at the national level collaborating on digital research infrastructure and high-speed network connectivity as a representative on the CANARIE National Research and Education network, and as an active member of the Canadian University Council of Chief Information Officers (CUCCIO).  During her time at Yukon University, she was instrumental in supporting the transition from Yukon College to Yukon University and in the recent pivot to remote work and distance education in response to the COVID pandemic. 

Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts, Management (Honours) from the University of Hull, UK, along with ITIL Foundation Certificate and Information Access & Protection of Privacy Fundamentals. She is currently completing the Senior University Administrators Course (SUAC) through the University of Manitoba.
