Ask questions and get feedback before submitting your application by attending the sabbatical planning and application workshop facilitated by Dr. Adrienne Chan, AVP, Research, Engagement and Graduate Studies.

At this workshop you will receive informatoni about what contributes to a successful application:
- Recognize what makes a good application.
- Write a project summary, objectives, and goal statements.
- Develop a detailed, clear timeline of activities.
- Identify potential outcomes, disseminations, and publications.
Completed applications for 2019 -2020 will be due November 30, 2018, with other deadlines in September and October (e.g. to your Department/School, and your Dean).

Student Graduate Scholarship Workshop
A workshop is given every year in September for students who plan to apply for NSERC, SSHRC & CIHR scholarships for graduate school. The deadline for these applications is December 1st each year. We will post the next Student Graduate Scholarship workshop date in July 2018.

Research Option & Scholarly Activity (ROSA) Workshop
The Research, Engagement and Graduate Studies department facilitate a workshop every year for faculty members interested in applying for either a Research Option or Scholarly Activity release. The deadline for these release applications is October 31st each year. The next workshop will be held in early September 2018 and the details will be shared in July 2018. Keep checking our website or UFV Today events, for updates.

Grant Writing Workshop
Each year the Research Office hosts a workshop to answer the question "Why apply for a research grant?"
Participants receive tips on:
- Evaluating the funding source criteria
- Defining your purpose and objectives
- Writing your project summary
- Developing a manageable timeline
- Identifying potential outcomes, disseminations, and publications
