Prerequisite: B.C. TQ or Red Seal in commercial transport, automotive, heavy duty, commercial trailer, or motorcycle repair. Bring proof of credentials to first class.
This course is designed for Red Seal trade‑qualified mechanics who want to advance their careers by becoming Authorized Inspectors under B.C.’s Commercial Vehicle Safety & Enforcement (CVSE) program.
In this comprehensive program, you will gain the knowledge and skills to inspect both commercial vehicles (air‑brake–equipped trucks and buses) and personal vehicles (automobiles, RVs, and light trucks).
Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to apply to CVSE for authorization to perform official vehicle inspections across British Columbia.

Students must have their mobile BC services card set up prior to class, this needs to be accessed through a mobile device such as a phone or tablet in class. Students must also have access to electronic copies of their BC Red Seal and Trade Qualification documents, this could be on a USB drive or web browser-based email, or document accounts such as google docs.

This course prepares designated inspection facility owners/operators for the Designated Inspection Facility (DIF) Operator examination, which is written in class. Gain awareness and working knowledge of all applicable Motor Vehicle Act regulations and vehicle inspection program requirements. Learn about program objectives, authorized inspector obligations, and operator responsibilities and liabilities.
