Gain the essential skills required to enter the field of information technology with a UFV Computer Information Systems (CIS) certificate.
The two-semester program provides you with the knowledge and experience to work with single-user systems and meet the needs of small companies who require employees with computer experience.
As part of the program's strong emphasis on practical work, you get to apply what you learn in the classroom on hands-on projects in UFV's well-equipped labs.
Flexible course options allow you to graduate with a certificate focused on specific skills or a general knowledge base. Depending on your course selection, you may find yourself working in areas such as web support, user technical support, or computer support.

After you graduate, you can choose continue your studies while you work to earn a UFV Computer Information Systems diploma or a UFV Bachelor of Computer Information Systems degree.
Rapid change and the increased use of outsourcing have made the IT workplace a very volatile one over the last few years. The CIS department meets twice a year with an external advisory committee to track and predict change, and to keep Computer Information Systems programs relevant to current and future organizational needs. Our diverse committee is peopled by members of industry and the public sector whose knowledge and experience is pertinent, timely, and crucial to our decision-making processes.

Apply to Qualifying Studies if you do not currently meet the entry requirements in order to upgrade your qualifications for future admissions.
The entrance requirements to all CIS programs include minimum grades in Mathematics and English courses.
