Attend a portfolio info session

The portfolio info session introduces the creative industry and UFV's Graphic + Digital Design programs. Instructors, students, and grads share real-world experiences, provide feedback and advice on entrance portfolios, answer questions, and give tours of the studios and labs. Attendance is strongly encouraged.

Apply to UFV

The Graphic and Digital Design diploma is a full-time 60-credit cohort program offered on the Mission campus (fall intake), and the Abbotsford campus (winter intake).

Fall 2019 intake: apply by Monday May 20, 2019
Winter 2020 intake: apply by Tuesday October 1, 2019 (intake will open May 1, 2019)

International application deadline
Fall 2019 intake: apply by Monday April 1, 2019

Submit your portfolio

Follow the portfolio submission guidelines carefully. In addition to 10 to 15 pieces of creative work, include your résumé and two reflections, as outlined in the guidelines. Submit your portfolio using Slideroom.

Portfolios will be reviewed on an ongoing basis at the end of each month, starting January for fall intake and August for winter intake.

Note: The Graphic and Digital Design Diploma is a limited intake program with 20 seats available on the Mission campus (fall intake), and 10 seats available on the Abbotsford campus (winter intake). Please submit your portfolio as early as possible for the best opportunity for a seat.

Interview: Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview. International or out-of-region applicants may be interviewed online via Skype or Google Hangouts.

Notification of Acceptance

All accepted applicants will receive a letter of acceptance from the Office of the Registrar. To accept your offer and secure your seat in the Graphic and Digital Design program, pay your $200 registration deposit. View payment methods.

Register for courses

Follow the steps to find out how to register and use the myUFV portal to find your pre-assigned registration time.

Fall 2019 intake: registration begins mid-June, deadline end of June
Winter 2020 intake: registrations begins mid-November, deadline end of November

Any applicant who does not register will be replaced with a waitlisted applicant. 

Note:

  • Equipment requirements (MacBook Pro laptop) will be finalized six weeks before the term start. New students will receive an email notification with equipment specifications and appointment times for equipment set-up. Questions?   • Fall 2019 semester begins on Tuesday September 3, 2019. Winter 2020 semester begins on Monday January 6, 2020.
  • New diploma students are required to attend two mandatory GDD lab orientation sessions taking place during the first week of class.
