Program description

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) — Aviation is built for people who love aviation but want more than just a pilot licence. You'll blend hands-on flight training with real business education, coming out ready for careers in aviation management, aerospace, and more. Along the way, you'll sharpen the skills that matter in any professional setting — communication, leadership, and sharp decision-making.

The program combines flight training, aviation theory, and academic coursework. You'll complete 30 academic courses alongside your pilot training, working toward a degree that prepares you for management roles in the aerospace industry.

Take your pilot training at the external flight school of your choice, with the flexibility to switch providers if needed. After your training, Transport Canada assesses and awards you a Private and Commercial Pilot licence and ratings needed to fly different types of aircraft in a range of conditions. These can be completed before, during, or after your coursework, with the flexibility to switch providers if needed. Once complete, you'll receive 30-36 academic credits toward this degree.

If you want a broader perspective, round out your degree with a major or minor in areas like marketing, finance, or human resource management. You can also choose a minor from other business areas or another discipline at UFV.

Graduate with Honours

Graduate with honours by keeping strong academic standing and completing 12 extra upper-level business credits. It's a meaningful distinction that reflects both your academic commitment and your drive.

Career expectations

Demand for trained pilots continues to grow worldwide as airlines expand and experienced pilots retire. According to Boeing, international airlines will need to hire more than 600,000 new pilots over the next two decades — including 127,000 in North America, 143,000 in Eurasia, and 134,000 in China.

Graduates may pursue careers in corporate travel or charter flights (Canada has 800 on-demand aviation service providers), airport administration, and operations management. Once you have flight hours, opportunities may include major airlines or serving as a corporate jet captain.
