Program description
Global business is growing, and organizations need people who can work across borders and cultures.
In the International Business major, you learn how companies work across borders and cultures, and manage business activities in different countries. You'll study global business strategy, international marketing, and trade. You'll also learn how to explore global markets, solve business challenges in different regions, and develop communication skills for working with people from different cultures.
Program structure
A key part of this program is studying abroad and developing language skills. You must complete a study abroad semester at one of UFV’s international partner universities and earn credit toward your degree while gaining first-hand experience in a global setting.
Years 1 & 2
Complete core courses in business, economics, math, and communications to build a strong foundation.
Years 3 & 4
Focus on specialization in international business while exploring business topics that match your interests within a global context.
Go to the program outline for the complete list of required courses and credits.
Additional opportunities
Study abroad
Study abroad in one of 20+ countries and earn UFV credits at a partner university, including leading global business schools. Meet people from around the world, learn about new cultures, and build skills for working in other countries.
Co-operative education
Gain practical experience through paid co-op work terms lasting four, eight, or twelve months, offered in regional, national, and global firms. Build your skills, connect with employers, and develop skills for working across borders and cultures.

- Stand out to employers: Build paid work experience, professional connections, and your resumé.
- Explore career paths: Try roles in international trade, logistics, or marketing to find what interests you.
Honours degree
Earn an honours degree by achieving high grades and completing 12 extra upper-level (numbered 300-400) business credits beyond your program requirements. Courses from other areas may count with special approval.
