Program description

Build the skills to bring products, brands, and ideas to life.

In the Marketing major, you learn about how to understand and influence consumer behaviour, market research, digital marketing, and sales. You'll explore customer needs, study market trends, and create marketing plans to help businesses reach their goals.

UFV's Marketing major stands out for its focus on sales, providing a strong foundation in both strategy and sales. UFV is the only Canadian university that requires business students to complete a course in professional selling and offers advanced courses in business-to-business (B2B) selling and sales management.

Program structure

You gain practical experience through applied learning, including co-op work terms in areas such as marketing coordination, social media, and e-commerce. Opportunities to work on real projects and take part in case competitions help you build a portfolio and apply your skills in real-world settings.

Year 1 & 2

Complete core courses in business, economics, math, and communications to build a strong foundation.

Year 3 & 4

Focus on specialization in marketing and develop more advanced knowledge in areas such as brand management, advertising, and marketing strategy.
