This program may be right for you if:

Check the program schedules page for a guide to which courses to take in a given semester.

Career expectations

When you embark on a cybersecurity career, you have many career options. This program focuses on skills to protect data, systems, and networks from threats. You could become a cybersecurity analyst, security consultant, or network security specialist. Other career avenues include governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) analysis or cloud security.

The BC Labour Market Outlook lists several computing professions as high-opportunity occupations with excellent projected employment and strong wages, including information systems analysts and consultants, computer programmers and interactive media developers, and software engineers and designers.

The IT marketplace is always changing. To make sure graduates have in-demand skills, the School of Computing meets with an advisory committee of industry experts from both the private and public sectors. Their expertise helps shape courses and programs to keep them current and innovative.
