Program description
The Global Development Studies (GDS) minor allows students to complement their major with an interdisciplinary understanding of global challenges, including social, economic, political, and environmental inequalities and injustices.
Through the minor, students explore issues such as poverty, gender inequality, sustainability, global health, climate change, and migration. By examining these challenges through a critical global perspective, students can connect their primary field of study to broader questions of social justice, equity, and sustainable development.
Career expectations
A minor in Global Development Studies can enhance career opportunities by adding a global perspective to your primary field of study.
The knowledge and skills gained through the minor can complement careers in areas such as education, communications, public policy, international development, environmental sustainability, and community services.
The minor can also provide a valuable foundation for further studies in fields related to global development, social justice, and international affairs.
