Find your program

Our programs immerse you in the scientific study of the mind and behavior, from neural processes to social interactions and cultural influences. Through research-focused courses, hands on learning opportunities, and community engagement, you will gain the knowledge and practical skills needed for careers in human services, health, research, and education, or to pursue further study in psychology and related fields.

Psychology major

Build a strong foundation in the core areas of psychology including perception, cognition, learning, motivation, neuroscience, developmental psychology, and social behavior. In your upper level years, explore specialized topics that match your interests such as memory, consciousness, health psychology, child and adolescent psychology, language, personality, and abnormal psychology. Engage in research methods courses and gain experience in psychological research that prepares you for graduate school or diverse careers in human services, counseling, and education.

Psychology extended minor

Develop a valuable understanding of how people think, feel, and act by pairing a Psychology extended minor with another major such as Criminology, Sociology, or another Arts discipline. After completing foundational first and second year courses, you can tailor your upper level requirements to suit your academic and career goals. This combination strengthens your analytical and interpersonal skills and enhances employability in fields related to social services, community programs, public safety, and education.

Psychology Honours

Pursue advanced study in psychology through an Honours program designed for students who want intensive research experience and preparation for graduate school or professional studies. Working under the mentorship of a faculty supervisor, you will complete an Honours thesis based on original research in an area of your interest. This option allows you to develop strong critical thinking, research design, and data analysis skills that provide a competitive advantage for graduate programs and research focused careers.
