Calculation of GPA
Calculation of Entrance Scholarship GPAs are based on grade 11 and 12 courses.
Please note: We are aware of the challenges with newly imposed quarterly and semester systems - as such we are being very flexible with transcripts and interim marks. If English 12 is taken in the second semester or final quarter, we will use English 11.
Provincial Examinations and Approved Grade 12 Courses
UFV does not require provincial examinations, but high school graduation requires provincial exams in some subjects. If you wrote provincial exams, the higher of your school mark or your blended grade (school mark and provincial exam mark combined) is used for GPA calculation.
Supporting Documentation
Applications are not complete until all supporting documentation is submitted to the UFV Financial Aid and Awards office, on or before the application deadline. Please make sure you submit the following:
- A 1 page cover letter telling us about yourself and why you have chosen to study at UFV. This letter should also detail your academic achievements, educational goals and special accomplishments.
- A list of volunteer and/or leadership efforts, including total hours spent at each activity.
- 2 current reference letters detailing your service and /or leadership activities.
