Explore various options below to manage educational and living costs. These programs are designed to support students who demonstrate financial need and may include grants, loans, or emergency assistance.
Adult Upgrading Grant (AUG)
A provincially funded grant that helps students in upgrading, ESL, and training programs cover costs such as tuition, fees, textbooks, and supplies. You do not need to be registered in classes to apply.
StudentAid BC Loans & Grants
Provides a mix of federal and provincial loans and grants to eligible full-time and part-time students. Includes supports like the Canada Student Grant for Persons with Dependents and other need-based funding options.
Part-Time Student Aid
Financial assistance for students taking 20–59% of a full-time course load. Funding may help with tuition, books, transportation, and childcare costs.

Student Lines of Credit
Most of Canada’s chartered banks offer lines of credit and special banking packages to Canadian students who have exhausted assistance possibilities through government and institutional sources. Monthly interest must be paid by the borrower while in school but payments on loan principal can be deferred until the student is out of school. A co-signer is often required.
For further details, contact a loans officer at the bank or credit union.
Emergency Student Funding
Short-term assistance for students facing unexpected financial crises. Support may include tuition deferrals, emergency bursaries, or funding.
