Part-time or full-time students with permanent disabilities in post-secondary programs may apply for up to $8,000 each year for adaptive equipment, supplies, and/or services to assist with their studies.
Eligibility
- Must be a student with a permanent disability.
- Must apply through StudentAidBC:
- Full-time (40%–100% course load) → apply through the full-time StudentAidBC application.
- Part-time (20%–59% course load) → apply through the High-Need Part-Time application.
- If eligible, you do not need to negotiate loan documents to receive this grant.
How to apply?
- Contact UFV’s Centre for Accessibility Services (CAS)
- Meet with an Accessibility Advisor to document your disability.
- Determine the equipment, services, or supplies you may be eligible for.
- Work with Financial Aid and Awards
- An advisor will help you complete the rest of the application (StudentAidBC or Canada Student Grant for High-Need Part-Time).
- Submit Your Application
- Application and documentation are sent to Special Programs, Student Services Branch, Ministry of Advanced Education for processing.
Processing & Funding
If approved, funding will be sent to the Centre for Accessibility Services within 6–8 weeks.
